Justification by the grace of Jesus Christ
മുമ്പെ നാമും ബുദ്ധികെട്ടവരും അനുസരണമില്ലാത്തവരും വഴിതെറ്റി നടക്കുന്നവരും നാനാമോഹങ്ങൾക്കും ഭോഗങ്ങൾക്കും അധീനരും ഈർഷ്യയിലും അസൂയയിലും കാലം കഴിക്കുന്നവരും ദ്വേഷിതരും അന്യോന്യം പകെക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.
എന്നാൽ നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ ദയയും മനുഷ്യപ്രീതിയും ഉദിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ നമ്മെ നാം ചെയ്ത നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികളാലല്ല, തൻ്റെ കരുണപ്രകാരമത്രേ രക്ഷിച്ചതു.നാം അവൻ്റെ കൃപയാൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു പ്രത്യാശപ്രകാരം നിത്യജീവൻ്റെ അവകാശികളായി തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു പുനർജ്ജനനസ്നാനം കൊണ്ടും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം നമ്മുടെമേൽ ധാരാളമായി പകർന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൻ്റെ നവീകരണംകൊണ്ടും തന്നേ. ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യം;
ദൈവത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചവർ സൽപ്രവൃത്തികളിൽ ഉത്സാഹികളായിരിപ്പാൻ കരുതേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ഇതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു ശുഭവും മനുഷ്യർക്കു ഉപകാരവും ആകുന്നു.

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly,
that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men

സകലമനുഷ്യർക്കും രക്ഷാകരമായ ദൈവകൃപ ഉദിച്ചുവല്ലോ; നാം ഭാഗ്യകരമായ പ്രത്യാശെക്കായിട്ടും മഹാദൈവവും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൻ്റെ തേജസ്സിൻ്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതെക്കായിട്ടും കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഭക്തികേടും പ്രപഞ്ചമോഹങ്ങളും വർജ്ജിച്ചിട്ടു ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ സുബോധത്തോടും നീതിയോടും ദൈവഭക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ ജീവിച്ചുപോരേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നമ്മെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചുവളർത്തുന്നു.
അവൻ നമ്മെ സകല അധർമ്മത്തിൽനിന്നും വീണ്ടെടുത്തു സൽപ്രവൃത്തികളിൽ ശുഷ്കാന്തിയുള്ളോരു സ്വന്തജനമായി തനിക്കു ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നെത്താൻ നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു.

നീതീകരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ കൃപയ്ക്കു യോഗ്യമാം വണ്ണം താഴ്മയോടെ ജീവിക്കുക Live humbly according to the grace of God who justifies
കൊമ്പുകളിൽ ചിലതു ഒടിച്ചിട്ടു കാട്ടൊലീവായ നിന്നെ അവയുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒട്ടിച്ചു ചേർത്തു ഒലീവുമരത്തിൻ്റെ ഫലപ്രദമായ വേരിന്നു പങ്കാളിയായിത്തീർന്നു എങ്കിലോ,
കൊമ്പുകളുടെ നേരെ പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നീ വേരിനെ അല്ല വേർ നിന്നെയത്രേ ചുമക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഓർക്ക.
എന്നാൽ എന്നെ ഒട്ടിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു കൊമ്പുകളെ ഒടിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു നീ പറയും.
ശരി; അവിശ്വാസത്താൽ അവ ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോയി; വിശ്വാസത്താൽ നീ നില്ക്കുന്നു; ഞെളിയാതെ ഭയപ്പെടുക.
സ്വാഭാവിക കൊമ്പുകളെ ദൈവം ആദരിക്കാതെ പോയെങ്കിൽ നിന്നെയും ആദരിക്കാതെ വന്നേക്കും.
ആകയാൽ ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ ദയയും ഖണ്ഡിതവും കാൺക; വീണവരിൽ ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ ഖണ്ഡിതവും; നിന്നിലോ നീ ദയയിൽ നിലനിന്നാൽ ദയയും തന്നേ; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നീയും ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.------------റോമർ 11:17-22
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്നു, അത്യുന്നതദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കുമ്പിടേണ്ടു? ഞാൻ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളോടും ഒരു വയസ്സു പ്രായമുള്ള കാളക്കിടാക്കളോടും
കൂടെ അവൻ്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ചെല്ലേണമോ?
ആയിരം ആയിരം ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനിലും പതിനായിരം പതിനായിരം തൈലനദിയിലും യഹോവ പ്രസാദിക്കുമോ? എൻ്റെ അതിക്രമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എൻ്റെ ആദ്യജാതനെയും ഞാൻ ചെയ്ത പാപത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി എൻ്റെ ഉദരഫലത്തെയും കൊടുക്കേണമോ?
മനുഷ്യാ, നല്ലതു എന്തെന്നു അവൻ നിനക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു: ന്യായം പ്രവർത്തിപ്പാനും ദയാതല്പരനായിരിപ്പാനും നിൻ്റെ ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ താഴ്മയോടെ നടപ്പാനും അല്ലാതെ എന്താകുന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു?
കേട്ടോ യഹോവ പട്ടണത്തോടു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നതു; നിൻ്റെ നാമത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു ജ്ഞാനം ആകുന്നു; വടിയെയും അതിനെ നിയമിച്ചവനെയും ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിൻ.ദുഷ്ടൻ്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഇനിയും അനീതിയുള്ള നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും ശാപകരമായ കള്ളയളവും ഉണ്ടോ? കള്ളത്തുലാസ്സും കള്ളപ്പടികൾ ഇട്ട സഞ്ചിയുമുള്ളവനെ ഞാൻ നിർമ്മലനായി എണ്ണുമോ?

Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
The LORD's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

കർത്താവും രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൻ്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താൽ ലോകത്തിൻ്റെ മാലിന്യം വിട്ടോടിയവർ അതിൽ വീണ്ടും കുടുങ്ങി തോറ്റുപോയാൽ അവരുടെ ഒടുവിലത്തെ സ്ഥിതി ആദ്യത്തേതിനെക്കാൾ അധികം വഷളായിപ്പോയി. തങ്ങൾക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകിട്ടിയ വിശുദ്ധകല്പനയെ നീതിയുടെ വഴി അറിഞ്ഞശേഷം വിട്ടുകളയുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ അതു അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നതു അവർക്കു നന്നായിരുന്നു.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

അവൻ ഓരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവൻ്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്ക പകരം ചെയ്യും. നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു വേണ്ടുന്ന സ്ഥിരത പൂണ്ടു തേജസ്സും മാനവും അക്ഷയതയും അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നിത്യജീവനും, ശാഠ്യം പൂണ്ടു സത്യം അനുസരിക്കാതെ അനീതി അനുസരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു കോപവും ക്രോധവും കൊടുക്കും.
തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏതു മനുഷ്യാത്മാവിന്നും കഷ്ടവും സങ്കടവും ആദ്യം യെഹൂദന്നും പിന്നെ യവനന്നും വരും. നന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും മഹത്വവും മാനവും സമാധാനവും ആദ്യം യെഹൂദന്നും പിന്നെ യവനന്നും ലഭിക്കും. ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ പക്കൽ മുഖപക്ഷം ഇല്ലല്ലോ. ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഇല്ലാതെ പാപം ചെയ്തവർ ഒക്കെയും ന്യായപ്രമാണം കൂടാതെ നശിച്ചുപോകും; ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പാപം ചെയ്തവർ ഒക്കെയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ വിധിക്കപ്പെടും.
തിന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏതു മനുഷ്യാത്മാവിന്നും കഷ്ടവും സങ്കടവും ആദ്യം യെഹൂദന്നും പിന്നെ യവനന്നും വരും. നന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും മഹത്വവും മാനവും സമാധാനവും ആദ്യം യെഹൂദന്നും പിന്നെ യവനന്നും ലഭിക്കും. ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ പക്കൽ മുഖപക്ഷം ഇല്ലല്ലോ. ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഇല്ലാതെ പാപം ചെയ്തവർ ഒക്കെയും ന്യായപ്രമാണം കൂടാതെ നശിച്ചുപോകും; ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പാപം ചെയ്തവർ ഒക്കെയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ വിധിക്കപ്പെടും.
Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile ; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile : For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

നിങ്ങളുടെ നീതി ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും പരീശന്മാരുടെയും നീതിയെ കവിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

യേശു : "കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ തുളസി, ചതകുപ്പ, ജീരകം ഇവയിൽ പതാരം കൊടുക്കയും ന്യായം, കരുണ, വിശ്വസ്തത ഇങ്ങനെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഘനമേറിയവ ത്യജിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അതു ചെയ്കയും ഇതു ത്യജിക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം."

കരുണ ഇല്ലാത്ത ദുഷ്ടദാസൻ Wicked servant without mercy
“സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുമായി കണക്കു തീർപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശംഅവൻ കണക്കു നോക്കിത്തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ പതിനായിരം താലന്തു കടമ്പെട്ട ഒരുത്തനെ അവൻ്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു വന്നു. അവന്നു വീട്ടുവാൻ വകയില്ലായ്കയാൽ അവൻ്റെ യജമാനൻ അവനെയും ഭാര്യയെയും മക്കളെയും അവന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും വിറ്റു കടം തീർപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ടു ആ ദാസൻ വീണു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു: യജമാനനേ എന്നോടു ക്ഷമ തോന്നേണമേ; ഞാൻ സകലവും തന്നു തീർക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.അപ്പോൾ ആ ദാസൻ്റെ യജമാനൻ മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു കടവും ഇളെച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
ആ ദാസൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ തനിക്കു നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കടമ്പെട്ട ഒരു കൂട്ടുദാസനെ കണ്ടു തൊണ്ടെക്കു പിടിച്ചു ഞെക്കി: നിൻ്റെ കടം തീർക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ്റെ കൂട്ടുദാസൻ: എന്നോടു ക്ഷമ തോന്നേണമേ; ഞാൻ തന്നു തീർക്കാം എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ച. എന്നാൽ അവൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ ഉടനെ ചെന്നു കടം വീട്ടുവോളം അവനെ തടവിൽ ആക്കിച്ചു. ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതു അവൻ്റെ കൂട്ടുദാസന്മാർ കണ്ടിട്ടു വളരെ ദുഃഖിച്ചു, ചെന്നു സംഭവിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും യജമാനനെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
യജമാനൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: ദുഷ്ടദാസനേ, നീ എന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കയാൽ ഞാൻ ആ കടം ഒക്കെയും ഇളെച്ചുതന്നുവല്ലോ. എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നിയതുപോലെ നിനക്കും കൂട്ടുദാസനോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അങ്ങനെ യജമാനൻ കോപിച്ചു, അവൻ കടമൊക്കെയും തീർക്കുവോളം അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ സഹോദരനോടു ഹൃദയപൂർവ്വം ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എൻ്റെ പിതാവു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്യും.

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence
: and he laid hands on him, and took
him
by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യരോടു അവരുടെ പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചാൽ, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിക്കും. നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യരോടു പിഴകളെ ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാലോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിഴകളെയും ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ല.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

പിന്നെ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: “ധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യന്നു ഒരു കാര്യവിചാരകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അവൻ്റെ വസ്തുവക നാനാവിധമാക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലർ അവനെ കുറ്റം പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഈ കേൾക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിൻ്റെ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിൻ്റെ കണക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക; നീ ഇനി കാര്യവിചാരകനായിരിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
എന്നാറെ കാര്യവിചാരകൻ: ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? യജമാനൻ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു എന്നെ നീക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നു; കിളെപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല; ഇരപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നാണിക്കുന്നു. എന്നെ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിയാൽ അവർ എന്നെ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിൽ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു എനിക്കു അറിയാം എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.
പിന്നെ അവൻ യജമാനൻ്റെ കടക്കാരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തനെ വരുത്തി ഒന്നാമത്തവനോടു: നീ യജമാനന്നു എത്ര കടംപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. നൂറു കുടം എണ്ണ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനോടു: നിൻ്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി വേഗം ഇരുന്നു അമ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിൻ്റെ ശേഷം മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടു: നീ എത്ര കടം പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. നൂറു പറ കോതമ്പു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു; അവനോടു: നിൻ്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി എണ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
ഈ അനീതിയുള്ള കാര്യവിചാരകൻ ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു യജമാനൻ അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി; വെളിച്ചമക്കളെക്കാൾ ഈ ലോകത്തിൻ്റെ മക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറയിൽ ബുദ്ധിയേറിയവരല്ലോ. അനീതിയുള്ള മമ്മോനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. അതു ഇല്ലാതെയാകുമ്പോൾ അവർ നിത്യകൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ നിങ്ങളെ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ ഇടയാകും. അത്യല്പത്തിൽ വിശ്വസ്തനായവൻ അധികത്തിലും വിശ്വസ്തൻ; അത്യല്പത്തിൽ നീതികെട്ടവൻ അധികത്തിലും നീതി കെട്ടവൻ.

തങ്ങൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്നു ഉറെച്ചു മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ധിക്കരിക്കുന്ന ചിലരെക്കുറിച്ചു അവൻ ഒരു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: രണ്ടു മനുഷ്യർ പ്രാർത്ഥിപ്പാൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ പോയി; ഒരുത്തൻ പരീശൻ, മറ്റവൻ ചുങ്കക്കാരൻ.

Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
ആകയാൽ നാം എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? കൃപ പെരുകേണ്ടതിന്നു പാപം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്ക എന്നോ? ഒരുനാളും അരുതു. പാപസംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവരായ നാം ഇനി അതിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?
അല്ല, യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു ചേരുവാൻ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റവരായ നാം എല്ലാവരും അവൻ്റെ മരണത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളാകുവാൻ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? അങ്ങനെ നാം അവൻ്റെ മരണത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളായിത്തീർന്ന സ്നാനത്താൽ അവനോടുകൂടെ കുഴിച്ചിടപ്പെട്ടു; ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചിട്ടു പിതാവിൻ്റെ മഹിമയാൽ ജീവിച്ചെഴുന്നേറ്റതുപോലെ നാമും ജീവൻ്റെ പുതുക്കത്തിൽ നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.
അവൻ്റെ മരണത്തിൻ്റെ സാദൃശ്യത്തോടു നാം ഏകീഭവിച്ചവരായെങ്കിൽ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിൻ്റെ സാദൃശ്യത്തോടും ഏകീഭവിക്കും. നാം ഇനി പാപത്തിന്നു അടിമപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം പാപശരീരത്തിന്നു നീക്കം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു നമ്മുടെ പഴയ മനുഷ്യൻ അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ മരിച്ചവൻ പാപത്തിൽ നിന്നു മോചനം പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ മരിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ അവനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കും എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കയാൽ ഇനി മരിക്കയില്ല; മരണത്തിന്നു അവൻ്റെ മേൽ ഇനി കർത്തൃത്വമില്ല എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ. അവൻ മരിച്ചതു പാപസംബന്ധമായി ഒരിക്കലായിട്ടു മരിച്ചു; അവൻ ജീവിക്കുന്നതോ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു. അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും പാപ സംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവർ എന്നു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നവർ എന്നും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ എണ്ണുവിൻ.
ആകയാൽ പാപം നിങ്ങളുടെ മർത്യശരീരത്തിൽ അതിൻ്റെ മോഹങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുമാറു ഇനി വാഴരുതു, നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അനീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായി പാപത്തിന്നു സമർപ്പിക്കയും അരുതു. നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ മരിച്ചിട്ടു ജീവിക്കുന്നവരായും നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ നീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായും ദൈവത്തിന്നു സമർപ്പിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.
നിങ്ങൾ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നല്ല, കൃപെക്കത്രെ അധീനരാകയാൽ പാപം നിങ്ങളിൽ കർത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുകയില്ലല്ലോ. എന്നാൽ എന്തു? ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നല്ല കൃപെക്കത്രെ അധീനരാകയാൽ നാം പാപം ചെയ്ക എന്നോ? ഒരുനാളും അരുതു.
നിങ്ങൾ ദാസന്മാരായി അനുസരിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ സമർപ്പിക്കയും നിങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ചു പോരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ദാസന്മാർ ആകുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഒന്നുകിൽ മരണത്തിന്നായി പാപത്തിൻ്റെ ദാസന്മാർ, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നീതിക്കായി അനുസരണത്തിൻ്റെ ദാസന്മാർ തന്നേ. എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ പാപത്തിൻ്റെ ദാസന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളെ പഠിപ്പിച്ച ഉപദേശരൂപത്തെ ഹൃദയപൂർവ്വം അനുസരിച്ചു പാപത്തിൽനിന്നു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ലഭിച്ചു നീതിക്കു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീർന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു സ്തോത്രം.
നിങ്ങളുടെ ജഡത്തിൻ്റെ ബലഹീനതനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ മാനുഷരീതിയിൽ പറയുന്നു. നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അധർമ്മത്തിന്നായി അശുദ്ധിക്കും അധർമ്മത്തിന്നും അടിമകളാക്കി സമർപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നായി നീതിക്കു അടിമകളാക്കി സമർപ്പിപ്പിൻ.
നിങ്ങൾ പാപത്തിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിരുന്നപ്പോൾ നീതിയെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു സ്വതന്ത്രരായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ. നിങ്ങൾക്കു അന്നു എന്തൊരു ഫലം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു? ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലജ്ജ തോന്നുന്നതു തന്നേ. അതിൻ്റെ അവസാനം മരണമല്ലോ.
എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ പാപത്തിൽനിന്നു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു ദൈവത്തിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിരിക്കയാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന ഫലം വിശുദ്ധീകരണവും അതിൻ്റെ അന്തം നിത്യജീവനും ആകുന്നു. പാപത്തിൻ്റെ ശമ്പളം മരണമത്രേ; ദൈവത്തിൻ്റെ കൃപാവരമോ നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൽ നിത്യജീവൻ തന്നേ.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
